Comments: Hi what a great site. I loved the pictures of Castlehyde. My Mum and Dad are buried there, Bridie Byrnes-Joyce and John Joyce. I miss Fermoy a lot. I used to go to the Presentation Convent many years ago.Wanted to see if I could get a picture of the Viaduct. I don't see it included on your site. See Viaduct here Also want to say hello to Jack O'Sullivan. Does anyone remember my Uncle George? He used to be the town barber.... I'm related to the Byrnes family of Fermoy, I'm sure everyone knows Tommy Byrnes...

Comments: Hi, I found your lovely pages tru the UN link and I must say it's very interesting indeed. I love the scrapbook style way of the site. My link with Fermoy was as a young soldier with the 12th Batt Limerick and I, along with about 40 other dubs , did our 3 star traing at Fitzgerald Camp with the motor squadron, 1975/76. As far as I can recall, we were the only group of dubs to train with the 12 Batt at Fermoy. Perhaps some people might remember us. We were there for 6 weeks. We had some great times there in the local pubs and I remember going to see the singer 'roly daniels' at the local dance hall, where the local girls would never refuse you a dance. I also remember the long walk back to the camp too. I have fond memories of Fermoy and the people and I hope I can make it back there some time, kind regards , Stephen Haugh (ONE/LANCS/M'SIDE)

Comments: Really interesting site. My grandparents orginated from Fermoy, Mary Higgins and William Strain, who later moved to England. As they both passed away when I was young, I have little knowledge of their life in Ireland. I have just started my family tree, so I have found this beneficial obtaining more background information as to where my family have originated from. I understand that there is still some family left in the town, but whether this is correct or not I haven't found out yet. I have visited Fermoy a couple of years ago and am now able to read about the history of the town with the memories that I have.

Comments: Great site. Need to look in depth at it - only found it tonight. I'm looking for any information on James & Margaret McCallum who were living in County Fermoy in 1847, married in Cork then emigraed to Glasgow. I know James was originally from Antrim and Margaret from Dublin but other than that no other information except Margaret had a sister called Catherine who as far as I know never married. Any help would be appreciated especially if I could find out the church they were married in. Thank you.
